Pacific Community Church Doctrine

1) We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament were given by inspiration of God; and that they alone constitute divine rule of the Christian faith.

2) We believe that there is only one God; who is infinitely perfect, the creator, preserver and governor of all things and is the only proper object of worship.

3) We believe that there are three persons in the Godhead, the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit whom are co-equal in power and glory.

4) We believe that in the person of Jesus Christ the divine and human nature are united and that He is truly and properly man and God.

5) We believe that the Godhead worked together to create the universe. God spoke, Jesus created and the Holy Spirit move on the face of the water.

6) We believe that Adam and Eve were created in a state of innocence but by their disobedience they lost their purity and joy. That because of their fall from grace all people are born in sin and justly exposed to God's judgment and wrath.

7) We believe that the Lord Jesus has by His suffering, death and resurrection made an atonement for our sins and that who ever calls on the name of Jesus will be saved.

8) We believe that faith in God through Jesus Christ, repentance for our sins and confession with our mouth are necessary to salvation.

9) We believe that we are justified by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

10) We believe that if a person has salvation through Jesus Christ there will be evidence in their life to show it and that our salvation is dependant on God's grace not our works.

11) We believe that if it is possible to lose your salvation it is based on continued willful sin and disobedience to God's will and His word over a long period of time. Our salvation is not a fragile thing; it is based on God's grace and our faith. Therefore if we can lose our salvation it is because of total apostasy.

12) We believe that all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are useful and available to use until Jesus returns to take us Home. And that those gifts are to be used to benefit the whole body of Christ and to be used in love and grace.

13) We believe that it is our privilege to follow Jesus into baptism and to do so is to be obedient to Him.

14) We believe that our body is the temple of God and we should care for it in obedience and love.

15) We believe in the immortality of the soul; the bodily resurrection; the general judgment at the end of the world; eternal peace for all believers and eternal punishment for the wicked.

16) We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is 100% God and 100% man. That He was born of a virgin and is the true Messiah and Savior.

17) We believe that the universal church has two main assignments by God; to evangelize and edify.

18) We believe that because there are many different interpretations of God's Word and therefore we are to keep everything in balance and make our judgments with love, grace and mercy. Seeking to build and not tear down. Seeking fellowship with other true believers and promote love and cooperation amongst believers world wide. Therefore we support missionaries at home and abroad.
